Abstract

Medication non-adherence poses a significant challenge in healthcare, leading to poor treatment outcomes, increased healthcare costs, and patient safety concerns. This research paper aims to investigate the role of medical/drug-related apps in improving medication adherence and enhancing patient safety. The study will begin by examining existing literature on medication adherence and the potential benefits of medical/drug-related apps in supporting medication management. Different types of apps, such as medication reminders, pill trackers, and medication interaction checkers, will be reviewed to understand their functionalities and effectiveness. Quantitative data will be collected through surveys and usage analytics to evaluate the impact of medical/drug-related apps on medication adherence rates and patient safety. The research will explore factors such as app usage frequency, notification preferences, and user engagement to assess their influence on medication adherence behaviors. Qualitative data will be obtained through interviews or focus groups with app users to gain insights into their experiences, perceptions, and challenges related to medication adherence and the use of medical/drug-related apps. The research will also investigate the role of healthcare providers in app recommendation and support. The findings will contribute to understanding the effectiveness of medical/drug-related apps in promoting medication adherence and patient safety. It will also provide insights into app design considerations, customization features, and user preferences to optimize the impact of these apps in medication management.
