Abstract

Pandemic situations, such as the COVID-19 outbreak, pose significant mental health challenges for healthcare workers, leading to increased stress levels and psychological distress. This research paper aims to explore the multidimensional factors that influence the mental stress experienced by healthcare workers during pandemics. The study will employ a mixed-methods approach, integrating quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews or focus groups. Healthcare workers from different healthcare settings will be included to capture diverse perspectives and experiences. The quantitative phase will involve administering a structured questionnaire to assess the mental stress levels of healthcare workers during the pandemic. Additionally, the survey will collect data on demographic characteristics, work-related factors, such as workload and exposure to COVID-19 patients, social support, coping mechanisms, and access to mental health resources.
