Abstract

In this article, the first travelogue of Kashmir, Seer-e-Kashmir, has been discussed in detail in a research and explanatory manner. This travelogue is written by the nineteenth century poet, Masnavi nigar, and travel writer Pandit Kanhaiya Lal Ashiq. We get a good understanding of the conditions and events of the nineteenth century. The travelogue is short. Still, it gives an introduction to the political affairs of the state institutions and kings of Kashmir. From this travelogue, the geography, environment, culture, they show vivid maps of language, weather, culture, customs and traditions. If seen, this is the masterpiece of Kashmir's first and early travelogues of Urdu, and it is also a valuable asset in terms of culture, history and documentation.

In this article, along with marking the individual characteristics of the travelogue, its literary value has also been clarified.
