Abstract

The conservative efficiency in managing water is supplemented by traditional practices, such techniques, irrespective of their merit, cannot be used to cope with the intricacies of water scarcity. This paper examines how artificial floods and environmental awareness may be integrated as novel approaches toward sustainable water resources management. Artificial floods replicate the flood regimes of natural floods providing one of the techniques for replenishing groundwater renewing ecosystems and enhancing agricultural productivity. The paper has adopted thematic research methodology with a scope to provide a holistic solution to management of the resource striking a delicate balance between human needs, environment and resilience in the face of drought.
